fairly effective

i liked your representations, particularly in such a small time, kind of reminds me of the awesome series, only about something intelligent, and without the humour.
speaking of which, if you through in some kickass voice acting and comedy, you'd definitely receive a five, as it stands, i squeezed it up to a four anyway, just because i like your presentation and the inferno to begin with. the music definitely was fiting, given the pace of the action. also, i was impressed by the length of the movie in comparison with the filesize. good job.

JayHankEdLyon responds:

Thanks for the insight. The basic reason for the lack of VA or funnies are that voices would interfere with the music, and thus the style, and it's hard to be comedic without words.

Still, I'm glad you brought it up.

Stunning!

This is the best worst thing i've seen in a while.
remember that terrible mario cartoon that got front paged? this is definitely up there with it.
i actually lawl'd a little bit, particularly at "there's always tomorrow" "... [no], i've stolen your brain!"
that's priceless.
i don't know if you were going the random way on purpose or if it just ended up being fairly incoherent, but either way, it was at least reasonably entertaining.
suggestions for next time: faster pace, more intriguing voice acting (not that this was bad, it was just a bit lacking), and a better length of video to file size ratio.

aSHOEin responds:

Yeah, sorry about the file size, I recorded the voices with a crappy microphone and if I tried compressing it, it got too soft. Oh well.
Thanks for the tips anyhow. "Best worst" is a great way to describe it.

Hmm, so...

I gotta be honest, it wasn't too much of anything. I gave you a two because i'm a big fan of that royksopp song you used at the end.
other than that though, it wasn't very coherent, i wasn't even sure what was going.

*confused*

i agree that coke is the better product though, for what that's worth.

PivotDK responds:

ok, coke is good pepsi is not i just wanted to base the story on it :P

A let down.

I was always hoping there would be a flash video of this song, but i was also hoping that that flash video would be a bit more... wholesome.
For a song with such strong visuals and themes already built in, i thought you might've capitalized a bit more on it.
Good effort nonetheless, 2/5.

AOD-Dillard responds:

Acctually there are other flash videos of this song that are quite good. In fact they are on newgrounds if you type in fire comming out of monkey's head.

A poor requiem.

A looping techno beat and an angsty, albeit apparently original, quote?
I hope any artistic friends I have will put more effort in to my memories if need be.
Please, motions, animation, anything particularly of interest please, next time you submit.
Maybe you could've made a compilation of some of his submissions or something, i dunno.

JujubeLock responds:

It was his music and his quote.

1 pt weird, 1pt creepy, 1pt painful.

I felt like it dragged on without any truly worthwhile conclusion. I'm not really sure what else to say, the backgrounds were interesting enough, the sound was uncomfortable, with a purpose of course, but the "story" if it can be called that, seemed... well, it felt for me like going to meet a friend at a train station only to find that their train has been cancelled indefinitely or something. I guess a bit of a let down. Hm, enough negativity. On the plus side, I feel like with a bit or sincere improvement and work, you could be in with the likes of david firth.

Neurrorist responds:

thank you for spending so much time to review,
and very poetic critiquing
we all live in the hopes of firth, so thank you

Interesting style...

I mean, of comedy.. well, the way the players run is an interesting style too... but mostly the comedy. Well scripted, and i thought the voices were well done, regardless of what others say. One thing, and it may just be your style and all, but I would avoid some of the more slapstick style comedy (ie. "What game are we playing?")... on the other hand, the memory sequence with the evil shake was excellent stuff (what can i say, I'm a "Family Guy" fan). Overall, I can't complain, well done.

Renegade-Hamster responds:

I agree with you with the "slapstick" thing. That bit wasn't really meant to be funny, but it was supposed to give the audience a reason to identify with Fleming. Otherwise, they'd just think he was being mean to Brody.

I think from that segment, it's pretty clear Fleming has to put up with Brody's kind of crap EVERY time Bantamshire plays. You can only be nice so many times. Then your patience wears thin.

Some People Will Never Understand...

and that's why you get reviews from me. Considering the length of time, I think it was very funny, in an awkward sort of way. Well executed, though i think I may have enjoyed the box finding more.

Renegade-Hamster responds:

Haha! I find that strange, but not at all unlikely.

This is not supposed to be a stand alone toon. The only reason for it to be seperated from it's counterpart is because of file size. It merely leads into the next toon. To judge it by itself is not really fair.

If this only had a good plot... or... punchline?

Anything relevant would've made this a good flash. as it stands, it looked very nice, but had as much purpose as... ...... ... ... ....... ....... that many ellipses.
Anyway, your animating capabilities seem great, either way.

FJDSJHDWSREWVDSJHXDB responds:

:( and :)

Good Stuff.

That about sums it up. I put the sound rating low because i dislike when things are angry and rock music is played. It seems everyone does that now, i mean, yes, it makes sense, but it seems too simple. Anyway, the actual number of shots and quality of the creations (kind of) was good, and all things with reference to Alice, Rabbit Holes, and ESPECIALLY the Mad Hatter are wonderful. Good job.

Costa-K responds:

Thx for the review mate, the reason i put the rock music in was because with out it, the sceane seems to quiete. Maby it is the easy way out, but i wanted to finish this claymation up.
